According to Nepals Civil Aviation Authority CAAN the Twin Otter took off at 955 am local time and lost communication with air traffic control around 12 minutes into the flight.
. Tara Air comprises a fleet of 6 STOL Short Take Off and Landing aircrafts which includes four Twin Otter DHC 6300 and two Dornier DO 228. Tara Air was formed in 2009 using aircraft from the Yeti Airlines fleet and is based at Tribhuvan International Airport with a secondary hub at Nepalgunj Airport. The Tara Air plane was on a 20-minute scheduled flight on Sunday from the resort town of Pokhara 200 kilometres west of Kathmandu to the mountain town of Jomsom.

19 hours agoTara Airs 9 NAET twin-engine aircraft which went missing in the mountainous district of Mustang in Nepal on Sunday morning was found at Kowang village of the district Nepal airport officials said. Local time on Sunday an airline spokesperson confirmed to CNN. A Tara Air spokesperson said 14 bodies had been recovered from the aircraft it operated and while search and rescue operations continued police said there were no presumed survivors the Washington Post reports.
